About

Dr Anthony Gill PhD, MSc, BSc (Hons), Dip Nursing, PGCE, RMN, has extensive knowledge of working with the elderly in a variety of settings including residential care, nursing care and care of the older adult. As an RMN he specialised in working in the acute environment and worked as a staff nurse and then as a charge nurse on busy acute admission wards.
More recently he has spent time working on a rehabilitation unit that specialises in PSI and CBT and has also worked in a care home with a variety of clients utilising his skills in palliative care to help staff.

During this time Tony studied part time to achieve a nursing degree followed by a Masters degree in advanced nursing practise, and has completed his PhD, is entitled “the lived experiences of people with schizophrenia prescribed atypical antipsychotic medication”

He has an interest in the quality of life of service users and has recently published an article on stigma and its effects upon individuals.

Tony is also a qualified lecturer having gained his PGCE at Huddersfield University and in 2007 was the first tutor at Bradford College to be awarded tutor of the year following nominations from his students.

A keen cyclist, Tony races in the Fred Whitton Challenge, a gruelling 112 miles route that raises money for Motor Neurone disease.
